Ross' outing wasted; TinCaps lose

Pitcher Joe Ross had a nice outing for the TinCaps, but it was wasted in a 2-1 loss to the Cedar Rapids Kernels at Parkview Field on Sunday.

Ross went six inning, giving up two runs and seven hits with three strikeouts.

He gave up a two-run home run to Adam Brett Walker -- his Midwest League-leading 21st of the season -- and Fort Wayne failed to muster much offense with only four hits.

Fort Wayne is 11-11 against teams from the West Division, with only Monday's game against Cedar Rapids remaining.
