Police seek gunman in early-morning shooting

Fort Wayne police are investigating an early-morning shooting that left one man critically wounded.

The shooting occurred about 12:15 a.m. today as the victim was walking near the intersection of Lafayette Street and McKinnie Avenue, said Officer John Chambers.

Police had not released the name of the victim as of early today.

Witnesses told investigators the gunman ran east from the scene, said Chambers.

Authorities released no additional information about the suspect.
