Irish land linebacker recruit

Notre Dame added a 16th member to its 2014 recruiting class Friday.

Richard Yeargin III, a linebacker from University School of Nova South in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., posted on his Twitter account that he committed to the Irish.

Yeargin wrote: "I am officially committed to the University of Notre Dame … #GoIrish #GoldenArmy14."

The 6-foot-4, 229-pound Yeargin is rated a four-star prospect by Rivals.com, Scout.com and 247Sports. He is the 13th best outside linebacker in the nation by Scout.com and the 17th best at his position by Rivals.com.

Yeargin is the 11th four-star prospect to join Notre Dame's 2014 recruiting class.
