SOUTH BEND – Notre Dame receiver TJ Jones found an interesting activity during the offseason.
The senior swam sharks as part of his job-shadowing venture at the Florida Aquarium in Tampa. Click here for more on this story.
Coach Brian Kelly said he was fine seeing one of his starting receivers swim with the sharks.
"I was excited to see that," Kelly said during a news conference Friday. "You figure if he is going to jump into a tank of sharks, he's going to go over the middle without any fear. I was pretty excited it was TJ Jones in there."
And Kelly doesn't expect the excitement from Jones to end there.
The Irish coach has big expectations for the receiver who caught 50 passes for 649 yards and four touchdowns last season.
"Wouldn't surprise me if he's a first‑round draft pick, he's that good," Kelly said. "Sometimes he doesn't get enough of the accolades. I think he's a great receiver."
