Irish land defensive lineman

Notre Dame added a second defensive player to its 2014 recruiting class in as many days.

Matt Dickerson, a 6-foot-5, 260-pound defensive end from Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, Calif., committed to the Irish on Saturday, according to multiple reports.

Dickerson is rated a three-star prospect by Rivals.com, Scout.com and 247Sports, and his decision to join Notre Dame comes a day after the Irish received a commitment from four-star linebacker Richard Yeargin III.

Dickerson's decision was reported by Blue & Gold Illustrated, Irish Illustrated, Irish Sports Daily and Irish Eyes, among others.

Dickerson is the 17th member of the Irish's 2014 recruiting class.
