County codes now accessible online
Want to find out the cost of permit fees or the rules of burning in your corner of the county?
The answers to those Allen County code questions and more can be found at www.allencounty.us/countycode. Each title of the code is displayed individually and can be searched by keyword.
The county partners with the IPFW Walter E. Helmke Library to provide online access and maintaining the code on the county website allows revisions to be made in a more timely fashion.
New Haven set for National Night Out
The city of New Haven and New Haven Police Department will host its annual National Night Out Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schnelker Veterans Memorial Park. There will be food, activities and raffle prizes.
The national crime prevention program was created to promote police-community partnerships and to educate on crime prevention.
The annual National Night Out now focuses on bringing neighbors and communities together through festivals, block parties, cookouts, and various other similar events as common ways for communities to come together.

Local housing group wins merit awards
The Fort Wayne Housing Authority announced it won Awards of Merit in Housing and Community Development from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials.
NAHRO advocates for the funding of HUD low- and moderate-income programs, and the production of low-income housing.
The Awards of Merit honor organizations that have found innovative ways to make a difference in the communities and the lives of people they serve.
FWHA received Awards of Merit for its Briefing Seminar (tied to the Housing Choice Voucher Program), Homeownership Program, Pre & Post Rental Education Program, and Lifeline Project Incentive, which includes a preschool and communitywide outreach.
