2 shot near Lafayette-Decatur intersection

Two men were injured, one critically, in an early morning shooting Sunday on the city's south side.

At 4:04 a.m., city police responded to a shooting around Lafayette Street and East Pettit Avenue, according to Fort Wayne Police Department spokesman Chris Felton.

A short time later, officers found a victim apparently suffering from gunshot wounds near Lafayette Street and Decatur Road. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, Felton said

According to witnesses, a second man was taken by private transport to another local hospital also suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, Felton said. That victim was listed in good condition.

There are no suspects, Felton said. No weapons have been recovered, and the relationship between the men and between them and whoever shot them is not known.
