Truck driver in I-69 crash dies of injuries

Lloyd E. Myers, 84, of Auburn, died Friday from injuries he received Wednesday in a crash on Interstate 69 north of Dupont Road, according to the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

The crash occurred about 9:40 a.m. A pickup truck had stopped along the right side of the southbound lane near the 320 mile marker, according to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.

The pickup pulled back into traffic, directly into the path of a car. The truck was hit from behind, causing it to travel across several lanes.

The pickup driver was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries. The coroner’s office identified him Saturday as Myers.
