The intersection of Union Chapel and Auburn roads is to close Monday for construction of a roundabout, and is expected to remain closed until the end of the year, the Indiana Department of Transportation said today.
The detour for Union Chapel Road uses Coldwater, Dupont and Diebold roads, the transportation department said in a statement. The detour for Auburn Road uses Dupont, Coldwater and Pion roads.
The Interstate 69 interchange ramps at Union Chapel Road, the Union Chapel bridge and the Interstate will have intermittent restrictions during the next several days, the statement said.
On Saturday, it said, the contractor plans to finish surface paving on the northbound Interstate 69 on-ramp and on Union Chapel Road at the project location.
From 9 p.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday, the contractor will restrict the right lane on southbound Interstate 69 to place asphalt on the southbound I-69 off- and on-ramps.
From 9 p.m. Tuesday until 5 a.m. Wednesday, the contractor will restrict the right lane on northbound Interstate 69 to place asphalt on the northbound I-69 off-ramp. The southbound Interstate 69 left lane will have a temporary restriction to apply pavement markings.
From 9 p.m. Wednesday until 5 a.m. Thursday, the contractor will restrict the northbound and southbound left lanes to mill out temporary pavement and mill shoulder rumble strips.
