Here's a look back at Fort Wayne's 8-5 win against Dayton on Monday through the numbers that came from the game.
Number of times the TinCaps have won consecutive games at home during the second half. The TinCaps were 25-11 at home in the first half, good for the best home record in the Midwest League. But even Parkview Field hasn't been able to break Fort Wayne of its losing habits in the second half.
Number of walks between both teams Monday. There were plenty of deep counts, too. The starting pitchers threw a total of 196 pitches between them: Max Fried (Fort Wayne) and Sal Romano (Dayton). The two threw 5 1/3 and 3 2/3 innings, respectively.
Number of triples, by TinCaps left fielder Luis Domoromo. Domoromo went 2 for 4 with three RBI Monday, but the offense-laden outing became a backdrop when Fort Wayne nearly squandered another big lead.
Number of hits by Padres first-round pick Hunter Renfroe in five at-bats. Renfroe was stellar in his first two games but slouched a bit in his third day with the club. He left a game-high nine runners on base and also committed an error Monday.
