TinCaps maintain 3-run lead over Dayton

Fort Wayne used a four-run fourth inning to pad its lead and keep Dayton at bay through six innings.

The TinCaps lead 8-5 after a 6-0 start against the Dragons.

Starting pitcher Max Fried went 5 1/3 innings for Fort Wayne in an up-and-down outing. The lefty didn't give up a run until the fifth inning, but the Dragons managed five off him and his replacement, Jorge Guzman, in the next two frames.

The TinCaps offense ran up 10 hits and five earned runs on Dayton starter Sal Romano, who threw 94 pitches over 3 2/3 innings.
