Toledo? #1? Wow...the guy ranking must be from Toledo. 2 minor teams in the city larger than Fort Wayne...the mud hens i have no idea about but the Walleye don't even sell more tickets than the K's. Hersey should be the #1 as far as minor hockey goes and by the list of all minor sports they have i'd say they should be #1 over all

Justin. I'm with you. In fact, Id take it a step further. I'd have a hard time being convinced that any minor league city is better than Fort Wayne.
Between the renovated Memorial Coliseum to the newly and continually updated Parkview Field, this city is uniquely situated to provide any number of professional sports to the community.
The attendance figures enjoyed by the Komets and the TinCaps are just amazing. The MadAnts are doing things the right way and I think with more on-court success they, too, will enjoy a re-birth and remind everyone of the success of the CBA before Isiah Thomas bought the league and promptly ruined it.
Something that doesn't get much notice is the loyal following that racing enjoys at Baer Field Raceways, and how Professional Golf is starting to take hold.
True enough, indoor football has taken its lumps. Lots of reasons and I think it will have to be gone for awhile before it's stigma has been forgotten so it can start over.

Have you been to Toledo?
It's an armpit of a town.
How does a town with a sometimes hockey team, a Jeep plant and a minor league baseball team that is famous 'cause Klinger on M.A.S.H. was a fan get top billing on this list?

yeah its a no brainer fort wayne should at least be ahead of Toledo if not number one because for one we have more minor league teams plus a better fan base for all the teams we have and not to mention the tradition behind our komet hockey I mean how many times has the Toledo walleye been nationally recognized??? This is also why conventions/international events are coming to fort wayne because of our superior facilities and better venues!

Toledo does have higher caliber baseball and until the K's joined the ECHL they also had higher caliber hockey. The MC is nice but the barn in Toledo is nice AND new.

As seen on a t-shirt a few years back: "Kiss her where it stinks.......take her to Toledo" Hopefully I didn't push the envelope to far with this comment.

Saw ECHL officials recognized the 4 ECHL teams for their top minor league spotlight and made me think. One thing that may have been a help to Toledo was the percentage of attendance to maximum attendance. They avg 6200 a game with 7431 capacity or 83%. We're at 7583 with 10500 capacity or 72%. Consider other variables but thats about the only plus I see Toledo would have on us besides the AAA Mudhens.
