Tom Kelley named to state motorsports commission

Fort Wayne automobile dealer and Kelley Racing founder Tom Kelley has been appointed to the Indiana Motorsports Commission.

Gov. Mike Pence announced the appointment Wednesday. The board will work with the Indiana Finance Authority on the state’s motorsports industry. The governor’s office said racing employs about 23,000 Hoosiers.

Others named to the commission:

  • Tim Clauson, of Noblesville, is regional vice president of sales for the Rotary Corp. and has been involved in racing since he was a small child.
  • Earl Goode, former chairman of the Indiana Sports Corp. and Chief of Staff under Gov. Mitch Daniels.
  • Ryan Kitchell, of Zionsville, is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Indiana University Health.
Chris Atkins, director of the Office of Management and Budget, will serve as chairman of the motorsports commission.
