For starters

TinCaps righthander Bryan Rodriguez goes to the hill tonight for a 7:05 p.m. start against Bowling Green in the second game of a three-game series at Parkview Field.

Rodriguez will be trying to end a two-game losing streak, and he'll need better run support than he's gotten lately to do it. In his 11 starts, the TinCaps have averaged just 3.4 runs per game; in his last five starts, that goes down to 1.6 runs per.

The good news is, the team has been swinging the bats lately. The TinCaps have put up 11 hits in each of their last five starts -- and while they face the pitcher with the fifth-lowest ERA in the Midwest League tonight (Jeff Ames, 7-4, 2.98 ERA), they raked Ames for 11 hits the last time they faced him.

Note: Right-handed pitcher Matthew Shepherd (4-4, 4.36 ERA in 32 appearances) was placed on the disabled list. To replace him, righty Ruben Mejia (3-5, 3.93 ERA) was reinstated from the disabled list.
