Haudenschild's name to be added to memorial

The first steps of adding Mark Haudenschild II's name to the Law Enforcement/Firefighters Memorial of Allen County will begin today.

An informal gathering is slated for 3 p.m. at the memorial at 1001 N. Wells St., and Haudenschild's family will help choose the letters to be later engraved on the memorial. A formal ceremony at the memorial is set for Oct. 12.

Haudenschild, 25, was a Washington Township volunteer firefighter who died in a tanker truck crash Nov. 11 while responding to a brush fire.
