TinCaps cut errors, win

The TinCaps defeated Great Lakes 4-2 Tuesday in Midland, Mich., to finish their road trip 3-1.

Fort Wayne is 11-2 against Great Lakes, including 6-1 at Dow Diamond.

After matching a franchise-worst seven errors in a 12-5 loss Monday night, Fort Wayne had only one Tuesday night.

Reynaldo Bruguera, Alberth Martinez and Diego Goris each had two hits for the TinCaps (65-61, 22-35 second half), and Martinez had a triple and a home run.

Fort Wayne also got triples from Bruguera and Tyler Stubblefield, as it totaled 10 hits to seven for Great Lakes (58-69, 32-25).

Starter Colin Rea went four innings for Fort Wayne, giving up one run and three hits, while striking out six and walking one. Matthew Chabot improved to 5-1, going 2 1/3 innings, giving up one run and one hit, while striking out three.

Roman Madrid, who struck out two batters and gave up no hits in the ninth, got his 21st save.

Great Lakes' starter, Jonathan Martinez (2-4) gave up four runs on seven hits, while striking out two and walking one in five innings.
