Sex abuse, battery crimes net 15 years

A 26-year-old man was sentenced to 15 years in prison on charges of attempted child molesting and battery.

On Friday, Allen Superior Judge Fran Gull sentenced Christian B. Morgan to 15 years in prison on the child molesting charge and two years in prison on the battery charge.

She ordered the sentences to be served at the same time, with 10 years executed and five years suspended.

She ordered Morgan, of the 2100 block of Webster Street, to serve four years on probation.

He pleaded guilty to the charges earlier this year, after an April arrest.

The victim, a young girl, told police Morgan tried to rape her, fondled her and forced her to take two “muscle relaxers” and smoke synthetic marijuana, according to court documents.
