TinCaps, South Bend head to extras

Fort Wayne and South Bend are heading to extra innings after a 4-4 tie through nine frames.

The last time the TinCaps and Silver Hawks went to extras, Fort Wayne won 3-2 in the 11th inning.

Both sides have benefitted from stellar relief pitching, including four dominant innings from the pair of Ruben Mejia and Roman Madrid for Fort Wayne. Thomas Brendel took down the TinCaps for South Bend from the seventh inning on.
