Fort Wayne man struck in restaurant lot dies, is ID'd

FORT WAYNE – A man found critically injured outside a restaurant on Fort Wayne's south side has died.

Marco Antonio Vinas-Herran, 31, died Monday, according to a statement issued Wednesday by the Allen County Coroner's Office. The time of his death was not released.

A passer-by found Vinas-Herran in a parking lot of Las Lomas Mexican Grill, 2202 S. Fairfield Ave., and officers were called to the restaurant about 6:30 a.m. Monday, police said.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 436-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous.

The coroner's office said the cause of death was blunt-force trauma and that the manner of death is pending.

The case remains under investigation.
