Police continued to search for information Wednesday about the driver of a vehicle that police believe struck a Fort Wayne man outside a restaurant Monday night.
Marco Antonio Vinas-Herran, 31, died Monday after he was found lying in the parking lot of Las Lomas Mexican Grill, 2202 S. Fairfield Ave., about 6:30 a.m. Monday, police said.
A passer-by found him, and he was taken to a local hospital. Vinas-Herran was pronounced dead about five hours later, the Allen County Coroner’s Office said in a news release. Kite said Vinas-Herran died of blunt-force trauma.
Fort Wayne Police Department spokesman Mike Joyner said officers described tire marks on Vinas-Herran’s shirt, likely indicating he had been run over by a vehicle.
“That was one of the indications that it was definitely a hit-skip,” he said.
Joyner said the hit-and-run remains under investigation, but he remains hopeful they can piece together information.
“We have no suspects at this time,” Joyner said.
