The death of a man struck by a car in a restaurant parking lot earlier this week has been ruled a homicide, the Allen County coroner's office said today.
Marco Antonio Vinas-Herran, 31, died from blunt-force trauma at Lutheran Hospital on Monday after he was found in the parking lot of Las Lomas Mexican Grill, 2202 S. Fairfield Ave., about 6:30 a.m.
His death is the 29th homicide of the year in Fort Wayne and Allen County, the coroner's office said in a statement.
Police have been searching for information about the driver of the car that struck Vinas-Herran. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867.
The homicide is being investigated by city police, the coroner's office and the county prosecutor's office.
