Prisoner wannabe

Matthew Matagrano, 36, of Yonkers, N.Y., was sentenced last week to 10 years in prison for repeatedly using phony credentials to gain entry into New York City jails.

Court documents said that the convicted sex offender, who mingled with inmates for hours and handed out cigarettes, said he repeatedly sneaked into jails because the people inside were “nice” and made him “feel important.” But during a Feb. 27 visit, he assaulted an inmate and stole a $2,500 walkie-talkie.
