Mich. manufacturer expands in Steuben

A Michigan-based manufacturer is expanding its presence in Steuben County as it creates five new jobs.

The Cold Heading Co. is investing $5.2 million in its Hudson factory, including $4.2 million in new equipment and a $950,000 expansion that will add 20,000 square feet to the building at 103 W. Indiana 4.

Cold Heading makes fasteners for the automotive, agricultural and heavy construction industries. The privately held company also operates two plants in Fremont, in addition to operations in Ohio.

The Hudson Town Council has approved a 10-year tax abatement that is expected to save the company $230,000.

Greg Stevens, Cold Heading’s owner, said a reliable workforce and competitive location have helped the operation thrive in Hudson.
