After bringing Jackie Robinson to the big screen in 42, Chadwick Boseman is going to try another icon: James Brown.
Boseman has been cast to play the Godfather of Soul in a planned biopic by The Help director Tate Taylor. The film is currently untitled.
The project has been in development for years, with various actors and directors attached. It’s set to finally begin shooting this fall in Mississippi.
Stars to be honored
The Environmental Media Association is honoring Matt Damon and Hayden Panettiere for their dedication to ecological causes. The organization announced Monday that the two actors will be honored at its 23rd annual Environmental Media Awards this fall.
Damon will receive the Ongoing Commitment Award for his work with Water.org, the organization he co-founded that aims to bring safe water and sanitation to people around the world.
Panettiere will accept the Futures Award, which recognizes younger entertainers for their potential to be environmental activists. The Nashville star is active with the Whaleman Foundation, an oceanic research and conservation group.

Don’t get your heart set on anything more than the 90-second ’N Sync reunion seen on the MTV Video Music Awards. The performance marked the first time they performed together in 11 years, and also the last time they’ll do it, at least for a while.
It would be lovely to do it, but we’ve got nothing planned, Lance Bass said.
