Plan would shift 51% of the county’s voters

If a proposed plan to reorganize polling locations is approved, more than half of Allen County voters can expect some changes during next year’s elections.

About 51 percent of voters in 172 precincts would have new locations if the plan goes through, Beth Dlug, director of the Election Board, said today.

The effort is an attempt to make polling locations more accessible and create efficiencies, Dlug said.

The 128 current voting sites would be reduced to 111, she said. Thirty-five polling locations would be eliminated and 18 new ones would be added.

The proposal is available online at

During the next 30 days, the public is encouraged to review the proposal and submit their comments using the online form on the same site. The viewing and comment period will end Sept. 28.
