Great Lakes 4, TinCaps 3

For only the fourth time in their 15 meetings this summer, the Great Lakes Loons came out on the fat end of the scoreboard Saturday against the TinCaps, winning 4-3 before 7,463 fans at Parkview Field.

The Loons scored three runs in the first three innings, scoring two in the second on a single, a double, two errors and a wild pitch. They added a third run in the third inning on Tyler Ogle's double and Devin Shines' RBI single.

The TinCaps, meanwhile, scored a run in the second on back-to-back doubles by Luis Tejada and Rodney Daal, and another in the fifth when Mallex Smith singled, stole second and came all the way around when Loons' catcher Jose Cappellan's sailed into center field and eluded the center fielder.

The Loons added a run in the eighth on Leo Rodriguez' ground-rule double into the Loons' bullpen and Ogle's RBI single.

Tejada's towering home run to left center trimmed it to 4-3 with one out in the ninth, but Daal grounded out to short and Brian Adams lined out to right field to end it.
