Mentone woman held after 110 mph police pursuit


A Mentone woman was arrested following an early Sunday pursuit that reached speeds of 110 mph, the Kosciusko County sheriff's department said today.

Destinee Nicole Robinson-Moore, 19, was preliminarily charged with felony fleeing/resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, reckless driving, minor consumption of alcohol and driving while suspended, the sheriff's department said in a statement.

Robinson-Moore was being held in the county jail on $2,000 bond, the statement said.

It said a deputy saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed west on Winona Avenue about 4:20 a.m. Sunday.

The driver disregarded the stop sign at Zimmer Road, the statement said, and continued west as a deputy attempted a traffic stop.

It said the vehicle continue to flee from the deputy and accelerate before leaving the road and crashing in the 5500 block of West Crystal Lake Road.

Warsaw police assisted the sheriff's department, the statement said.
