Williams residents warned of scams

The Williams County Sheriff’s Department in Ohio issued a warning Wednesday about a variety of phone scammers that have targeted area residents.

In recent months, the sheriff’s department has received reports from residents about scams, including calls asking residents to send money or post bond for relatives or to send information to collect prize winnings.

Anyone who receives such calls should not send any money or give information to the callers and should contact the sheriff’s department at 419-636-3151.
