Pittsburgh Pirates catcher John Buck looks to the dugout on Sunday.

Party on, Pirates

So this what the north side of .500 looks like.

Oh, hey, there. I'm back. Been out celebrating the 81st victory of the season for my Pittsburgh Pirates (aka, Formerly The Farm Team To The Stars), which ensures they will not be a loser for the first time since 1992.

In 1992, I was 37 years old. Justin Bieber was zero years old. George Bush was president -- Bush the First, not Bush the Second -- and there was only one version of "Law & Order." And it had only been around for two years.

So, yeah. This is a big deal, the Pirates not being losers for the first time in two decades. A big, big deal. Something to celebrate for sure.

Lord. Is that the most pathetic thing you've ever heard?
