Irish slide in polls

Notre Dame slid to No. 21 in The Associated Press Top 25 and USA Today coaches' poll, which were released Sunday.

The Irish (1-1) were ranked No. 14 in the AP poll and No. 13 in the coaches poll before Saturday night's 41-30 loss to Michigan.

The Wolverines (2-0) moved up from No. 17 to No. 11 in the AP poll, and they went from No. 17 to No. 12 in the coaches' poll.

Notre Dame has two future opponents ranked in both polls with Stanford (1-0) No. 5 in the AP poll and No. 4 in the coaches' poll and Oklahoma (2-0) No. 14 in the AP poll and No. 13 in the coaches' poll.

USC, which lost to Washington State on Saturday, fell out of both polls. The Trojans were ranked No. 25 in the AP poll and No. 22 in the coaches' poll.
