Pair of home runs open scoring in South Bend

SOUTH BEND -- Right fielder Hunter Renfroe hit a solo home run in the top of the sixth, but South Bend third baseman Brandon Drury matched it with a homer of his own in the bottom of the frame.

The TinCaps and South Bend are tied at 1 with three innings to play in a must-win game for Fort Wayne.

Renfroe, the San Diego Padres' first-round pick in the 2013 draft, sent a ball over the wall in left-center with two outs. It was the first hit of the game for Renfroe, who is 1 for 3.

Fort Wayne has four hits off Silver Hawks starter Rob Coe, who remains in the game for South Bend.

Drury sent his solo shot over with two outs, as well. It was one of three hits given up by TinCaps starter Colin Rea, who has struck out six batters and intentionally walked one.
