Carroll boys win soccer Classic

– Bayden Lee scored the game-winning goal as the Chargers defeated Blackhawk Christian 1-0 for their fourth Carroll Classic boys soccer championship.

Northridge defeated Homestead for third; Warsaw beat Westview 4-1 for fifth; and Snider placed seventh with a 2-0 win over South Side.

Cross Country

Wawasee boys placed first as a team at the Marion Cross Country Invitational with 29 points.

HUNTINGTON NORTH 14, COLUMBIA CITY 0: At Huntington North, the Vikings (2-4-1) scored nine goals in the second half against Columbia City (1-4).

Sacha Thirion scored four goals and Tyler Henline and Aaron Webb each had three goals and three assists.

LAKEWOOD PARK 4, GARRETT 2: At Lakewood Park, Bradley Gerke scored three goals to lead the Cougars (4-1) over the Railroaders (4-3-1).


LEO 3, SNIDER 0: At Leo, Emily Wenglikowski had 17 kills and Alyssa Gross had 17 assists to lead the Lions over the Panthers in three straight sets (25-18, 25-18, 25-18). Maddie MacDonald led the Lions’ defense with 10 digs.
