  • Ross went six innings and gave up just one hit in a playoff-opening win against Bowling Green last Wednesday. He faces Blair, who was the 36th overall pick of the 2013 MLB draft. Blair got South Bend past Great Lakes in its first playoff game, with four hits, three walks and four strikeouts in six shutout innings.
  • The winner of today's game will face either Quad Cities or Beloit in the Midwest League Championship series. The best-of-five series will open with two games at the Eastern Division team's field, and the final two (or three, if necessary) will be played at the Western Division victor's place. The MWL Championship will start Wednesday.
