Marching bands

Much of the following story is being republished because some information was not available at press time for Sunday’s edition.

Homestead, DeKalb, Concordia and Adams Central took home honors Saturday during a high school marching band contest in Bluffton.

Twenty bands competed in the On the Banks of the Wabash contest at Bluffton High School. Host Bluffton performed in exhibition.

In Class A, Homestead was first, Carroll was second, Northrop was third, and Snider was fourth. Homestead won captions for music, visual and general effect.

In Class B, DeKalb was first, East Noble was second, Columbia City was third, Bishop Dwenger was fourth, New Haven was fifth, South Side was sixth, and Wayne was seventh. DeKalb won caption awards for music, visual and general effect.

In Class C, Concordia was first, Norwell was second, Angola was third, Heritage was fourth and Garrett was fifth. Concordia won caption awards for music, visual and general effect. In Class D, Adams Central was first, Woodlan was second, and Eastside was fourth. Adams Central won caption awards for music, visual and general effect.
