Crash kills Harley rider

A 57-year-old northwest Ohio man lost his life in a motorcycle crash discovered early Sunday on the south side of Garrett.

Officers were called to the 1300 block of South Randolph Street about 1:30 a.m. When they arrived, the found Paul Denman dead and his 2003 Harley-Davidson nearby, according to a statement issued by the Garrett Police Department.

It said that it appeared the motorcycle was going south when Denman lost control. Speed and alcohol were cited as contributing factors in the crash.

The DeKalb Count EMS, the Garrett Fire Department, the DeKalb County Coroner’s Office and the accident reconstructionist from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
