Blaze guts south-side pizzeria

A fire left heavy damage to a south-side pizzeria late Sunday night, according to Fort Wayne firefighters.

Firefighters were called to Tasty Pizza at 4302 Fairfield Ave. at 11:30 p.m.

A police officer on patrol had reported the fire after finding heavy smoke rolling from the pizzeria, the fire report stated.

The one-story building’s interior was well involved when firefighters arrived. Crews had the blaze under control in 12 minutes. No one was injured.

The building had heavy fire, smoke and water damage, the report said.

The fire remains under investigation.
