Notre Dame has another injured forward.
Austin Torres, a 6-foot-7 freshman, posted on his Twitter account that he will have knee surgery Thursday. Notre Dame spokeswoman Bernadette Cafarelli confirmed the surgery in an email.
Torres tweeted that he would likely have to sit out this year, but Cafarellie could not confirm the freshman's status for the season.
Torres signed with the Irish on Nov. 14 as part of a four-player class that includes former New Haven standout V.J. Beachem.
Notre Dame sophomore forward Zach Auguste is recovering from a sprained ankle.
