Man killed in east-side shooting

A man was shot and killed early Wednesday in the 3100 block of Lillie Street just west of South Anthony Boulevard, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.

Officers were called to the area about 2:20 a.m. and found the victim in the alley between Lillie and Winter streets in critical condition. The man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

The name of the victim has not been released and no arrests have been made. The shooting remains under investigation.

If this death is ruled a homicide, it would be the 31st homicide of the year in the county, exceeding the total for 2012 by one.
