CHICAGO – Suspended shortstop Jhonny Peralta will work out with the Detroit Tigers before today’s game at the Chicago White Sox.
Peralta accepted a 50-game suspension from Major League Baseball on Aug. 5 as part of its investigation into Biogenesis of America, a Florida anti-aging clinic accused of distributing banned performance-enhancing drugs.
Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski said no decision has been made on whether to activate Peralta. The two-time All-Star, who has been working out in the Dominican Republic, is eligible to return on Sept. 27 for the Tigers’ final three regular-season games in Miami.
