William done with military


Prince William has finished his tour of duty as a Royal Air Force search-and-rescue helicopter pilot and has left operational service with the British military to focus on royal duties and charity work, royal officials said Thursday.

William’s Kensington Palace office said that the second in line to the British throne completed his final shift this week.

It said he will now focus on royal duties and is “considering a number of options for public service.”

The palace said he had participated in 156 search and rescue operations, helping to rescue 149 people.

Prince Harry remains active in the military.

Daly joins ‘Today’

NBC says Carson Daly is joining the on-air team at the “Today” show.

Daly will be host of the Orange Room, a digital studio that will be part of the show’s revamped Manhattan home, Studio 1A. He starts Monday with the introduction of the new set.

As host of the Orange Room, Daly will bridge the “Today” show’s TV and digital platforms.

Lady A meets Nicks

Lady Antebellum may be on hiatus, but fans are still getting a chance to see something new from the Nashville trio.

Lady A will join Stevie Nicks on today’s 10 p.m. episode of “CMT Crossroads,” the show that matches country stars with partners from different musical genres.
