1 dead in Ligonier crash

A 24-year-old Cromwell man died in a one-vehicle crash in Ligonier Saturday.

Oscar Rodriguez was eastbound on Morton Street in Ligonier when he drove off the road, got back on the road and lost control of the vehicle about 5:15 p.m. The vehicle slid sideways off the road into a ditch and hit a tree, police said.

Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, Karol Rodriguez, 21, of Ligonier, was flown by helicopter to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne with leg and upper body injuries.
