Concordia, Adams Central and Northrop took home first place in their respective classes Saturday during a high school marching band contest in Waterloo.
Homestead, meanwhile, was grand champion in a contest in Lafayette.
More than 20 area bands competed in the DeKalb Invitational at DeKalb High School.
According to IndianaMarching.com, in Class D, Adams Central was first, Woodlan was second and Eastside was third. Hicksville, Ohio, and Bluffton were given participation awards. Adams Central won caption awards for music, visual and general effect.
In Class C, Concordia was first, Heritage was second and Leo was third. Whitko and Garrett earned participation awards.

In Class B, Greenfield-Central was first, East Noble was second and North Side was third. Wayne, South Side, New Haven, Huntington North, Columbia City and Bishop Dwenger were given participation awards. East Noble won a caption award for visual. Greenfield-Central won for music and general effect.
In Class A, Northrop was first and Snider was second.
Northrop won caption awards for music and general effect. Northrop and Snider tied for a visual caption award.
In the Star City Marching Festival at Lafayette Jefferson High School, Homestead was first in Class A and named grand champion.
Homestead won caption awards for music, visual, general effect, percussion and pit crew.
