Victim of fatal combine-car crash is ID’d

A man driving a car who was killed in a collision with a combine Tuesday evening in Huntington County has been identified.

Jeffery A. DeHaven, 57, of the Warren area, died from his injuries, according to the Huntington County Coroner’s Office.

About 5 p.m., the combine was headed north on Meridian Road when it pulled into the path of the car, which was going west on U.S. 24, the sheriff’s department said.

The combine dragged the car across the westbound lane, and the vehicles came to rest north of the intersection.

The combine driver, William Reed, 83, of Huntington, was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
