Notre Dame in the polls

Notre Dame held steady in The Associated Press Top 25 and slid down a spot in the USA Today coaches poll.

The Irish, who improved to 3-1 with a 17-13 home win over Michigan State (3-1) on Saturday, remained No. 22 in the AP. Notre Dame moved down one spot in the coaches poll dropping to No. 22.

Notre Dame will play its second Top 25 matchup of the season this Saturday as the Irish play host to Oklahoma (3-0), which is ranked No. 14 in the AP poll and No. 12 in the coaches poll.

The Irish lost their first Top 25 matchup this season when they fell to 41-30 to Michigan, which is now No. 18 in the AP poll and No. 17 in the coaches poll.

Arizona State (2-1) which Notre Dame plays on Oct. 5 in Arlington, Texas, fell out of both polls after getting routed 42-28 by Stanford on Saturday.

The Cardinal (3-0), who the Irish close the season against on Nov. 3, are ranked No. 5 in both polls.
