A man was shot multiple times Saturday night at an apartment complex in south Fort Wayne, making it the second shooting there in three days.
Shortly after 7 p.m., police received several reports of gunshots in a building at Twin Oaks Apartments on East Paulding Road, near Hessen Cassel Road, said officer Chris Felton, a city police spokesman.
In a second-floor apartment, officers found a badly wounded man, and medics took him to a hospital in critical condition.
Police did not identify the victim, who, according to Felton, did not live in the apartment.
Late Saturday, detectives were interviewing witnesses and were still trying to determine what happened.
Witnesses told police they heard gunshots and then saw three men dressed in all black run from the building and leave in a white, four-door car, Felton said. Police had no word on a motive.
Investigators found multiple shell casings in the apartment and the hallway, Felton said. No other injuries were reported.
The other recent shooting at Twin Oaks Apartments happened Thursday evening. The victim in that case was also critically injured, police said. His name has not been released.
Police believe the victim and another person were walking outside when someone came out of an apartment building and shot at them before fleeing on foot.
No arrests have been made in either case. Anyone with information about the shootings is asked to call the Fort Wayne Police Department at 427-1222.
