R-rated animation in works

Sony Pictures will make a raunchy, R-rated animated film written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg titled “Sausage Party.”

The project was announced Tuesday by Sony. Writing partners Rogen and Goldberg penned the script along with Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir.

“Sausage Party” is described as “one sausage’s quest to discover the truth about his existence.” After falling out of a shopping cart, the sausage journeys through a supermarket.

“Sausage Party” is planned for release in 2015.

License suspended

Her license suspended, Dina Lohan left a suburban New York courthouse in a chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce on Tuesday after entering a not guilty plea on speeding and drunken driving charges.

Lohan, 50, was surrounded by a media throng usually associated with her troubled actress daughter, Lindsay Lohan, as she left a Long Island courthouse following her arraignment. She was released without bail until her next court appearance Oct. 23.

Judge Joy Watson released Lohan without bail but ordered her driver’s license suspended, citing the severity of the alleged drunken driving charge.

Boy for star couple

Kaylee DeFer and Fitz of Fitz and the Tantrums are the proud parents of a baby boy.

The lead singer of the rock band and the “Gossip Girl” actress welcomed Theodore Ignatius Fitzpatrick on Friday. The baby weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces.

Fitz, whose real name is Michael Fitzpatrick, said the couple had a doula to help with the birth.

‘Iliad’ rethink wins

A reworking of Homer’s “Iliad” by British poet Alice Oswald has won the Warwick Prize for Writing, an eclectic literary award open to English-language works in any genre.

Oswald’s “Memorial” was named winner of the $40,000 prize on Tuesday. Oswald said she was “very surprised and grateful, both to the judges and to Homer.”
