IPFW’s itinerary to find AD set

– The search committee and schedule are set; now all IPFW needs to do is find a new athletic director.

Daniel Gebhart, IPFW comptroller and chairman of the search committee, confirmed the 13-person search committee and the timetable to replace the departed Tommy Bell, who took the same position at Western Illinois.

Members of the search committee are: Gebhart, baseball player Malcolm White, women’s studies professor Janet Badia, faculty athletic representative Elliott Blumenthal, men’s basketball coach Tony Jasick, senior women’s administrator Christine Kuznar, accounting faculty member Cynthia Lloyd, office of institutional equity member Christine Marcuccilli, women’s soccer coach Margaret Saurin, compliance officer Wendy Wilson, Indiana Purdue student government association representative Raija Ochola and external members Rick Evans and Larry Lee.

The job was posted on the IPFW website, the NCAA News and selected media last week. The application deadline is Oct. 25, even though members of the committee will be reviewing candidates as they come in. From Oct. 20 to Nov. 8, the committee will meet and review all the candidates and narrow the field.

From Nov. 11 to 15, reference checks of the finalists will be done. From Nov. 18 to 22, the committee will recommend finalists to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and the Chancellor. On-campus interviews of the finalists will occur from Dec. 2 to 13.

Gebhart said the names will not be released until the list has been narrowed.
