Chargers volleyball goes distance for win

Carroll beat host Woodlan 3-2 in volleyball Wednesday.

The Chargers (15-2) won 25-19, 19-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-7 over the Warriors.

Jaqueline Quade led Carroll with 24 kills, while Jocie Bolinger added 10.

Woodlan got 21 kills from Burgundy Price and 18 from Tori Bontrager.

Boys soccer

EAST NOBLE 1, BELLMONT 0: Matt Patton scored with 2:30 left in overtime for the visiting Knights.

The goal was set up by Mason Diffenderfer’s assist on a corner kick.

Girls soccer

BISHOP DWENGER 6, SNIDER 0: Natalie Lebamoff had two goals and two assists for the host Saints.

Kellee O’Shaughnessy added three assists and a goal.

DEKALB 8, LAKELAND 2: Taya Poynter had five goals and an assist for the visiting Barons.

Maddie VanWye added three assists for DeKalb.

NEW HAVEN 1, ANGOLA 0: Hayley Shuler scored the lone goal to lift the host Bulldogs.

Nicole Loshe had the assist for New Haven.

HUNTINGTON NORTH 1, WAYNE 0: The visiting Vikings made a first-half goal by Corinne Tester stand up.

Hannah Williams had the assist for Huntington North.

NORTHROP 3, HUNTINGTON NORTH 2: The Bruins improved to 14-6 with the home win.

Northrop won all three singles positions, while the Vikings took the two doubles spots.

EAST NOBLE 4, NORWELL 1: Aaron Dills’ close win at No. 3 singles helped visiting East Noble.

Dills beat Cody Shively 7-5, 6-3.

CARROLL 5, COLUMBIA CITY 0: The host Chargers cruised to the easy win. Carroll’s Alex Houser won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles over Nikko Rongos.

ANGOLA 5, CHURUBUSCO 0: The visiting Hornets improved to 10-2 with the win. Angola lost only four games.

CANTERBURY 5, BISHOP LUERS 0: Jake Allan’s win at No. 2 singles highlighted the No. 4 Cavaliers’ road win. Allan beat Erik Woehnker 6-0, 6-7, 6-4.
