New Haven woman dies in US 127 crash with semi

A 31-year-old New Haven woman died Tuesday when her minivan was back-ended by a semi on U.S. 127 in northwest Ohio, according to a statement from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Elizabeth Klug was driving a 2002 Dodge Caravan north on U.S, 127 in Van Wert County about 7:45 a.m. and slowed at Ohio 81, the patrol's Van Wert post said in a statement. A 2007 Kenworth semi struck the Caravan from behind, it said.

Klug died at the scene, the statement said. It said the driver of the semi, Douglas L. Bell, 45, of Maria Stein, Ohio, was treated for minor injuries at an area hospital and released.

The crash remains under investigation.
