Prison time waived in sex crime

FORT WAYNE -- A man who pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct with a minor was given a largely suspended sentence Wednesday in Allen Superior Court.

Michael S. Hauser, 23 of Huntington was sentenced to a total of 10 years in prison on the Class B felony charge, but nine years were suspended and he was given a term of probation.

Hauser pleaded guilty in September to sexual misconduct with a minor and a misdemeanor charge of invasion of privacy.

Allen County prosecutors charged him in May after Fort Wayne police were told that Hauser had sex with a 15-year-old girl on at least four occasions in 2012.

He was also accused of having contact with the girl in spite of a court order.

As part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, a Class C felony charge of sexual misconduct with a minor was dismissed.
